Public Consultation Meeting – 2nd March 2016

PUBLIC MEETING 7.00 PM, 2ND MARCH 2016

HORSE AND FARRIER, BRIDGE STREET, OTLEY

Do you want to have your say on better Sports Facilities in the Chevin region?

Please let us update you on the Sport Chevin Vision. You can contribute!

Come and learn all about our community sports aims. We will explain our vision, funding strategy and business plan for a community sports hub. We would really welcome your support and constructive comments.

WE NEED IT!

Local schools struggle with facilities particularly in the winter. Decent facilities are too far away, making progression for youngsters difficult. Many local sports club have no base of their own and many have bases outside of the area. Female and disabled facilities are rare.

WHAT WILL IT BE?

Meeting facilities including changing rooms, catering facilities, meeting space and gym.

Multi-sport synthetic pitches and tracks – to cover as wide a range of sports as possible.

IT WILL BE USED.

Daytime -Schools/Community groups

Night-time – Sports Clubs/Associations

IT WILL PAY FOR ITSELF.

It would be run as a community facility but on commercial terms. It will pay for itself through a combination of private and public funding. It would be run by an association and be fully accountable to its members. We have a full profit and loss business plan prepared.

Our Family Day Fundraiser

Thank you so much to everyone that supported us on Saturday 6th September.
In particular Ian – who has been a stalwart since the beginning – and Colin and the team for putting the runs on.
There were many sports represented and Otley AC led from the front. We are now properly on the road to our goals.
We showed that the site of Wharfemeadows would be a perfect amphitheatre for the sporting folk of Otley.

Thank you again.
